Hi and thanks for looking, I am doing this on behalf of my uncle. Here's the situation...

My uncle is a British citizen and has lived in the uk for over 40 years, he now lives' in the Philippines were he has a biological daughter around the age of 7 - 8. her mother is Philippines.

He is wanting to get his daughter a British passport, she is already registered as a Philippines citizen.

Would she need to apply for a dual british citizenship, before she can apply for a british passport?

If anyone has any information on this or what documents he will have to fill out for this I would be grateful for your help.

Thanks

Two quick questions to determine your uncle status:

1. Was he British before his daughter was born?
2. How did he obtain British citizenship? Birth in the UK / naturalisation / through his parents (born abroad).

I think Jambo asked when was the daughter born? Before the father became BC or afterwards?

Regards.

In that case, as he is British from birth, his child is also British from birth. She can apply for a passport directly. There is no need to apply for permission of dual nationality (such as in some cases in the Philippines). The UK allows it.
