General Question

Hello All,

I am going to apply for Naturalisation next January. I want to get all docs ready so I won't have any hiccups before I send my application.

I received my ILR January 2014 (via 10 years residency). Regarding the timeline for Naturalisation, it requires the applicants to have lived in the UK for 5 years with no more than 450 days spent outside the UK and no more than 90 days in the previous 12 months.

My question is, in a couple of Topics, many wrote on their timeline as "5 years + 1 year ILR", do they actually mean "5 years with 1 year ILR?

Also, in section 2 of Form AN, the date first entered the UK, should I fill in the date when I first entered 10 years ago or 5 years before the Naturalisation application date?

Thanks in advance.

It means that you must have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years and had ILR for one year. It is not necessarily 6 years in total.
I put the date I first entered UK.
