British Citizenship / Council Tax - CCJ

Hi

First of all I would like to say a big thank you to everybody for providing such a wonderful support/advice/service.
I have been following this board for quite some time to get information etc.
But now I decided to register and become a member as I have a query myself.

I came to UK on spouse visa on 3rd October 2011. And then I applied for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) on 20th November 2013 and was granted on the day as I went for same day service (Croydon).

Now can I apply for Citizenship in November 2014 ?

And also in April 2013 I received a blue letter summons to court for declined council tax direct debit. I however did not receive any letter(s) telling that my direct debit was declined.
Anyhow, I contacted the council and paid the council tax in full within 1 week. And I was told by the council not to go to court.
Then in August 2013 a blue letter came again, and when I called council to enquire, I was told to ignore the letter.

I take that this blue letter is actually a CCJ ?
However, when I applied for my ILR in Novermber 2013 I did not put tick on the CCJ convictions as I didn’t think I had any.

And after reading your board threads, I am confused now.
Do I have a CCJ against me or not ?

I have also checked on Experian, Equifax, Noddle, and TrustOnline.
Nothing is coming up there.

When I make my application for Citizenship, shall I put cross on “yes” and then explain the same thing or simply put cross on “no” ?
And am I eligible to apply in November 2014 ?

I am sorry for too many questions in one go.
I am bit confused, and don’t want to lose the application fee.

Please note during ILR application I did not put “yes” to CCJ.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Many thanks

Experts can tell you better, but I'd ask council by going to their office and showing this whatever "blue letter" you are talking about and ask them in plain english "Is this a CCJ"? Then plan your future on their reply.

Regards.

Thanks for the reply.
The letter was actually "Summons to Court for unpaid Council Tax".

So a Liabitilty Order was made against me.
Does this effect on the application ?

Yeah it was paid in full within week.

Is Liability Order same as CCJ ?
Do i need to declare this on the application (Form-AN) ? Please keep in mind I did not declare it during my ILR application.
(ILR was granted on the day of application using same day service)
So Citizenship application will take some time, do you think they will carry enhanced checks ?

Liabitilty Order is not a CCJ.

If you used the Search function of the forum, you would have found similar questions have been asked (and answered) in the past.

I did search the forum, most of the cases are little different to mine.
Couldn't find the concrete answer.

I think I should not declare liability order as its not CCJ.
