Hi,

I am a british citizen by birth.

My wife is a russian citizen who has had 3 types of residence:

Student from September 2009 to September 2010
Spouse leave to remain from October 2010 to October 2012
Indefinite Leave to remain applied October 2012 granted February 2013

My step daughter is a russian citizen who has had 2 types of residence:

Visa to join parent from august 2011 to October 2012
Indefinte Leave to remain applied October 2012 granted February 2013

Which forms do we need to fill in for them both to apply for naturalisation as a British Citizen ?

Thanks so much in advance!

Your wife can apply as a spouse of BC. Requirement is last 3 years residence in UK + ILR.
How old is your stepdaughter?

Having re-read it all now I think the adult should apply on form AN and that *AFTER* she is granted citizenship, THEN we should apply for the child using form MN1 guidance note on page 14 of the guide says that they can register "at the home secretaries discretion". Anyone got any thoughts ?

born abroad

If the child was born outside the UK, then once one parent applies for naturalisation, the child can apply for Registration under section 3(1). The is application at discretion and the HO would expect that the other parent to hold (or to be close to holding) a ILR/PR status.
For the guidelines on Registration at discretion see section 9.17.
