Life in the UK test

Hi, I passed Life in the UK test in April 2013 before it was upgraded in September 2013. I got my PR one month ago and I'm going to apply for naturalization in September 2015. Will my Life in UK test be still valid or I will have to re-sit the exam?

Also, I have a PhD degree from University of Manchester, UK. To satisfy language requirements, does my PhD degree have to be validated by UK NARIC, regardless the fact that I was studying in the UK?

Many thanks for your advice.

Just to clarify...yes refers to 'still valid'.
