British naturalisation and my driving insurance issue

Dear friends,
Pls I need your advise on my application for naturalisation.
I am due for British citizenship however I was convicted at a magistrate court of driving without a 3rd party insurance. It was clealry an oversight on the part of my father who was meant to renew my insuance the day before the incident happened. I had an accident the next day my old policy expired, and it was at that point that I myself realised my dad did not renew the insurance. The police initially closed the case based on the findings they made but later reopened it and charged me to court. I pleaded guilty by post but explained the whole circumstance to the court with some facts. The magistrate invited me to attend the hearing instead of passing judgement on paper. When I got to court, the magistrate told me the reason I was asked to appear was that I had a merit in my case that based on the mitigating circumstances, I could be allowed to go free but then I would have to apply to a different court that will consider the case if I want to. But I chose not to.
Can you please advise me if my application will not fail the good character test.
Many thanks
Jess
