Form AN Section 1.2 Citizenship Ceremony

Dear all,
I have a question regarding Form AN Section 1.21 (Citizenship Ceremony). Is it optional to complete this section? My understanding is that if I don't complete this section the home office is going to choose a venue for me near where I live. Can you please share your experiences with me, is it better to leave this section blank or should I write details of the local authority location myself.
