Hi,

Can someone suggest me on the below?

I am a British citizen by naturalisation but my daughter was born a month before i got settled in UK(ILR).

Now, based on below statement from MN1 guide, Can i apply british passport for my daughter automatically without registering through MN1? She is currently on settlement visa in UK.

2 British citizenship by descent
British citizenship may descend to one generation born abroad. So a child born abroad
to a parent who is British otherwise than by descent will automatically be British by
descent.

Regards

It should actually say:

2 British citizenship by descent
British citizenship may descend to one generation born abroad. So a child born abroad
to a parent who at the time of birth is British otherwise than by descent will automatically be British by
descent.

Regards
MN1 is required. Children don't get British retroactively when parents naturalise.
