I am a mother of 12 year old child born outside UK and we would like to apply now for British citizenship after one year of getting ILR but my child passport has expired on April 2014 and can't get new one.
Will Home office accept his application with expired passport?
Thank you for your help

Should be okay. Get your Embassy to confirm that child has not applied for another passport.

residence requirement is normally exempted for a minor under 13 ..so in my opinion should be ok for your child without a current passport. however you may wish to get a letter from school/colleges confirming course and attendance.
