I think most people on this forum who applied around 12 to 17 March are still waiting, perhaps a slightly longer time due to Easter break as well as school holidays

I did not receive any email acknowledgement yet and still waiting for the letter. My money was deducted on 8th April.

Anyone else did not receive email and only received the letter?

Many thanks.
I recieved only letter mate
Recieved on 21st march dated 18th march
But no email
And still waitin for approval
Many thanks for your reply mate.

Maybe it depends on the case worker, some of them are lazy or not bothered.

As long as they send the approval letter I'm happy, don't really need an acknowledgement letter. They took the money that will be enough to prove that they received my application :)

It's been almost 3 weeks since they acknowledged your application, you should receive your approval soon. Good Luck...

Probably too many people applied to avoid paying the increased fee. Now HO is busy taking money and sending acknowledgment letters. Just a guess!

Hardly any approvals are received by the late March applicants since they resumed after Easter Break.

Hope they finish handling the payment slips soon and start going through the applications. :)

Morning to everybody :)
Does anybody knows, if new rules about BRP affects those who applied before 6th April 2015? Will we need to resubmit BRP details, or homeoffice will accept old data? Or simply leave it for new applicants?

I'm a carer. And for my dbs to go through I need my citizenship so I can start my new job. I can't get a dbs on a invalid passport.

But that's silly. Your citizenship might take 9 months, what are you going to do, starve to death? Why not find another job?

There seems to be a delay at the moment, mainly due to easter and new form etc. in my opinion. Hopefully your fees will get deducted soon, which in itself is like an acknowledgement of your application. Soon after that you will receive your acknowledgement from UKVI.

OK, well I hope you get your approval soon, but if it were me I would have a backup plan in case it takes 6-12 months.

Thanks for your positive words. The good thing I did not submit application directly through post with original documents (at least having current passport and ILR for backup plan).

Many thanks.

Hi all,
Not sure whether this is the right thread for asking questions about citizenship...Both my wife and I have ILR both through SET LR, in our own rights, except that my wife got hers 6 months before me. My question kuz I'm confused: Once she's applied and hopefully gets her citizenship, can I then apply for citizenship as the spouse of a British citizen? Or shall I wait for my ILR to be 12 months and apply for citizenship in my own right?
Thank you
V
