Reuse Life in the UK Test

Hi

My wife got ILR as a spouse of a Britsh Citizen back in 2013. We have finally got round to applying for British Citizenship and have noticed the rules have changed to requiring the test and language proof

We have looked at doing IELTS SELT, I think it's called, for the language, but can we just reuse the life in the UK test certificate and result from before? It seems daft that she should have to do it again as she's alreay proved it for ILR. If it makes any difference come the end of this year we will have been here for 10 years.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes what I know life in the uk test has no expiry date and you can use it for your wife naturalisation purpose easily. But remember to submit the original test certificate.

Thanks for that. Just need to puzzle our way through the confusing language test requirements and we'll be sorted.

I think an old Life in the UK test certificate completes the requirement for Knowledge of Life in the UK, but not the requirement for English, unless the life in the uk test was taken after 28 October 2913. Hopefully more experienced members can comment. For English, it has to be a degree in the UK, or UK NARIC's confirmation of equivalence if the degree was taken outside UK, or an English test certificate in the HO's approved list. My question would be whether an old English test certificate can be re-used even if it has expired e.g. Pearson certificates which last only two years. I read somewhere they are re-usable, but cannot find that clause again.
