April 2015 Naturalization application Timeline ONLY

So to sum up the current timelines:

*Three weeks (about 21 calendar days) from the date of the application, money is first taken out.

*On that same day, the acknowledgement and biometrics letter is sent out. Separate envelopes. 2nd class.

*These letters are received a few days later depending on the post office logistics.

*The Biometrics letter tells you you have 15 days from the issued date. Most people are wisely doing it the day received or the next day. The process takes about 10 minutes (aside from the wait, if any) at a Post Office that provides this service and costs about £20.

*Nobody who has applied early April, has gotten approval. Hopefully these will come before the end of May.

With the way things are going I would be very pessimistic. If it takes up to a month just to take out your money (the bit they like doing the most), I can bet you it would take much longer to do the bit they hate (dashing out that precious once in a life time gift called Nationality).

Patience is the word

The April dates so far are in line with what the March folks experienced. They also waited about 3 weeks for the money to be drawn and then got approvals 3-4 weeks after that.
Of course, whats new here is the biometrics. I don't know if that will affect the timelines or not. We shall see...

Date of Biometrics Letter Received: Dated 01/05/2015 received 08/05/2015 - This letter is only valid for 15 days and eight days have already been lost due to this letter being in post and not all post office in London have a Biometric scanning facility.
Date of Biometrics Done: 12/5/15 (1:35 PM) @ Canning Town (London) for £19.20 – I would highly recommend this post office to anyone living in London as its just opposite the Tube station and it took only 2 minutes for the biometrics registration as there was no one else in the queue (probably I went midday on a working day I guess).

PS: I was told categorically at NCS Camden that the full Naturalization process will take anytime between 6 weeks to 6 months so unless you have passed the 6 months mark, you should not panic. I am not sure if you are aware that your case worker is a civil servant whose duties/responsibilities could be reassigned during an election or at an important event so there will be some delays with some applications due to the recent election. Also, if the money has been deducted from your account, you will receive the biometric letter within 15 working days as it is only valid for 15 working days. If you receive it anytime later then home office is bound to give you some grace period.

My application was via NCS on 14/4 and the NCS lady said that UKVI would receive it on 15/4 via DX. But I still have not had fees taken and it is worrying me that others received by UKVI on 16/4 have had fees taken.

Same here, we applied via NCS on 13th April and still have not had fees taken. Very worrying

I was worried that mine would get flagged up with fraud protection so I phoned cc and they told me it was authorised on 11th even though it didn't appear on statement/balance until today. If you paid by cheque, I suspect that it would take longer to go through.

Yes, you do. It's for identity verification. This applies to all applications made after April 6th 2015.
