Hi every one, i hope some one here can answer my question. My wife filed a divorce petition against me when am just qualified (last month March) to apply for my British citizenship. I hold ILR for 3 years since March 2012, we're separated am living in a different address for few months now.
She want to give me her passport and birth certificate to apply for my British citizenship but her condition on me is i have to sign the partition for the court to start divorce process first. Am having the petition here with me but my worries are if i sign the petition and apply for citizenship it might affect my application.
My questions now are:
(1)what is the legal implication if i have to summit my application for citizenship whilst the divorce process is on going?
(2)Can she do anything to jeopardise my application process?
(3)what effect will it have on my application if i use my current address not hers.
(3)What is the legal time limit for a citizenship application process to last for?

Thank you.

If she's born in the UK you can get a copy of her Birth Certificate from the General Register Office so you wouldn't need to come to an arrangement with her.

You may still apply as a spouse until the decree absolute comes through.
