HO made error on recording my birth town

Hi
I received my naturalisation certificate last week and noticed that HO had left out the last letter in the name of my birth town. It should read HAAPAVESI but instead reads HAAPAVES. I have a couple if questions on this that I hope someone here can answer:
1. If I send it back to be corrected will I still be charged even though it is a HO mistake not mine. The guidance seems to suggest that I need to pay to have their mistake corrected which I don't find fair.
2. If I don't have it corrected would this cause a problem with a passport application? On the application I would spell it correctly and my previous passports would show the correct spelling as well.

Any information would be much appreciated

1. Do you have a copy of your AN application to prove its their fault? If yes I'd write a letter with that proof requesting the correction.
2. Yes it could be a problem.

I'd have my Naturalisation certificate corrected first as that is more important document than a passport. Click here for more details.

Thanks for your reply and the link us very helpful - I didn't realise that the certificate is the more important one if the documents. I have kept a copy of my application and can prove that the mistake is theirs. I think I will have to try and give them a call to find out the best way around this.
Thanks again for your response
