Hi All,

I have a query regarding Residential Qualifying period and have searched most available posts and UKBA website. I found that the more I read the more I am confused. :?

I would greatly appreciate your help as to when I can apply for naturalization based on the following info.

Arrived in the UK on spouse visa: 1 June 2012.
Time spent outside the UK till date : 405 days (due to spouse's work outside UK).
Time spent outside the UK for past year (upto 1 June 2015): < 90days.

Thanks in advance,

RE

Your absence are too high to apply as spouse of British Citizen.

The absence maximums are no more than 270 days in the 3 years immediately before application and no more than 90 days in the 12 months immediately before application.

You would need to wait until your absences are lower.

Hi wmazhar,

Thank you for the kind note.

Unfortunately my spouse has been working for a private institution. I guess I will have to wait for (405-270)days from 1 June 2015 (assuming no more days are spent overseas) for me to apply for naturalization.

Thanks again,
