Hi,

My and my wife are both EEA citizens and we have been living in UK for the last 7 years. My partner has been working all this time while I was studing (MSc , PhD) from 2008-2013 and I have been working since 2013. My problem is that I haven't had a comprehensive medical insurance between 2008-2013 although my wife has been working in UK during this time. From my point of view I should meet the residential requirements as a family member of EEA citizen working in UK. Could anyone confirm it please ?

Regards

IMHO as a family member of your wife who is a qualified person you have right of residence, after 5 years permanent residence and after 6 years eligibility for naturalisation

btw - when you were a student didn't you have an EHIC card or its E111 predecessor from a country other than the UK?

Thank you for your reply. No I didn't have any EEA medical insurance card. To be on the safe site I will try to use national check service before I sent my application.
