Naturalisation - travel abroad

Hi all,
I'm a UK citizen. My wife and our daughter will be applying for Naturalisation in June this year. Both are also planning to travel abroad for 5 weeks in July and August.
With the new introduction of bio-metric details, can they travel abroad while application is being processed? Can we explicitly specify that they will NOT be in UK for certain period of time?
Thanks for your time!

Best course of action would be to wait until you submit the biometrics before travelling. Provide there is someone in UK to receive the approval letter, you can always book the ceremony over phone from outside the UK.

If you look at the April thread, someone received their biometrics letter already and were told they had 15 days to to do it.
Presumably if you can't do it in that timeline the application is void and so is your application fee. you might be able to get them to put your application on hold but then, unless there's some urgency, I'd just wait to apply after the travel dates.

Thanks vignezh!
Yes, I will be here. I was certainly contemplating that thought of planning a holiday only after boi metrics. But I'm not sure if request for bio-metrics is any quicker these days.

Biometrics is a new process, so we don't know the timescales. Check the April Timeline thread to get an idea, taking into account a possible backlog as there would have likely been a rushy of applications before the fee increases.
Remember that there is a time limit within which to submit biometrics so might be better to apply once they are back from holiday.
