Passport Application with University address

Hi there
I applied for my passport about month ago and have had so many delays which was their fault as they misspelt my name and I couldn't book an interview 3 weeks ago.
Last week I finally went to my interview and 5 minutes in the lady told me we couldn't continue because my addresses were mixed up in the system so they couldn't do their "checks". I put my university address as my delivery address and my home address clearly stating HOME Address. I sent in a declaration form last week and have been calling them to check if the error has been fixed and so far nothing. The lady at the passport office said that they always get this problem with uni students and assured me it would get fixed within 3 days but all I've gotten is silence and its been over a week. Has this ever happened to any Uni students? If so how long did it take to fix?
