Hey forum,

I have a question about how can I apply for British citizenship.

Here are the details:

- I am living in London since 4 years

- My Grand Father is British and my Father half British half French (he was born in Bristol, and left UK when he was 5 to move to France)

Do you have any tips for me ?

Shall I wait 5 years before applying for the citizenship or I can apply using my father's status?

Thanks very much for you time =)

Hi Maeva,

If your parents were married when you were born (or married later on) you are British by descent since birth which means you can apply directly for a passport (no need to naturalise first!).
