Referees

Application made from UK (not oversees)

the guide states:
"One referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing,
such as a minister of religion, civil servant or a member of a professional body, e.g.
accountant o
r solicitor (but not representing you with this application). A list of
acceptable professional persons can be found on our website.
The other referee must be the holder of a British citizen passport and either a
professional person or over the age of 25."

In your opinion the below proposed list of referees would be acceptable by HO:

1. Manager in a Hotel (Limited Company) who is not British citizen but citizen of Republic of Ireland living and working in UK
2. British citizen over the age of 25 with British passport

If yes, does the foreign referee would have to sign the form in front of a solicitor (or consul) or normally as any British referee would do?

Should be fine I reckon.

If not they'll ask you for another referee. Your application won't be refused simply because one of referees isn't suitable.

No solicitor presence required.
