I wanted to know which documents are posted back once you apply for the british passport for the first time.
I will be sending my passport and my citizenship certificate.

Also if I happen to cancel my application for the British passport how long will it take to get my documents back?

You get all your documents back, no reason for HMPO to keep your documents so don't know why you think they might.

Do people usually get their documents back earlier or do they send it back after the interview along with the british passport

Usually get them back couple of days before or just after your interview.

Although mine came 5 weeks after I got my British Passport because they lost them somewhere
