Hi,

I am British by Descent and I'm wanting to apply for British Citizenship for my child through the British Nationality Act 1981 Section 3 (2).

I currently am living in the UK and my son and wife (who is not British) are living abroad. My son is 2 and a 1/2 years old.

My question is can I apply for his citizenship on his behalf from the UK even though he doesn't live here?

You/your wife may have to apply on his behalf from abroad as there is a new requirement to submit biometrics; this has to be done in person.

Is your friend British through naturalisation or by birth?

When were the children born? What were the marital status of these different mothers when child was born? Were they married to him, unmarried, or married to someone else?
