Hi
I have just read this on pg 12 in the following
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... n_2015.pdf
"This requirement is changing in November 2015. From that date you will only be able to
use an English language qualification at B1 level or above if it is on the list of acceptable
Home Office qualifications. This can be found on the GOV.UK website. Other English
language qualifications will no longer be accepted for this purpose."
Do we know if this means that ESOL entry level 3 speaking and listening will no longer be acceptable from November 2015 onwards?
Many Thanks in advance
Kind Regards

As per the Gov UK website:
From November 2015, you won’t be able to use ESOL qualifications as proof for settlement and citizenship applications
There is still a
Trinity B1 speaking/listening qualification on the list of approved tests/providers (but it's not called ESOL it is 'GESE'):

If your UK degree is on the
Ofqual Register, after the changes become operational, it will be accepted.

See also
4. If your degree was taught or researched in English
That said, best to check all this after the changes have been effected ... after 05-Nov-15 ... if you become eligible / are applying for citizenship after the said date.

Hi Sushdmehta,
once again many thanks for your prompt reply.
I did my degree from London South Bank Business school and off course it was taught in English.
So I guess I am ok I don't have to worry about the forth coming changes in the English language requirements.
Waiting for your reply.
Many thanks.

Dear sushdmehta
My wife will apply for naturalization in mid Aug. and will provide ESOL entry 3 certificates from Trinity College London.
Checking the timelines, it seems to take 4 months or so to process the applications, so by the time they get to review the application it may well be past this Nov deadline. Would they apply this rule right there and then? If so her application will fail because of this new rule.
Surely they should pay attention to the date the application is received, no?
