British Citizenship for my son
Posted: Wed Jul 29, 2015 7:04 am
Hi all,
I am a British citizen (born in the uk) and am married to a Chinese national, we currently live in china where my son was born on the 16th July 2015.
Am I correct in understanding that my son automatically attains British citizenship by decent without needing to take any action myself and that I can directly apply for his British Passport?
Actually I have already submitted an application for his first British Passport and they sent me this in an email which I don't really understand:
"Thank you for your recent application for a passport for the person named above. Unfortunately
you did not enclose all necessary supporting documents.
Please send us the following documents -
your registration or naturalisation certificate.
and
A full birth certificate showing parents details for (Wife's Name)
We cannot accept photocopied documents.
Also my wife doesnt have a copy of her birth certificate and cant get a replacement.
PLease HELP!
Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks in Advance
