As stated above, can I be more than 90 days outside UK in total but not consecutively? Moreover, a friend of mine told me your last 6 months in the 5th year you're not allowed to leave UK at all, I'm polish by the way
Thanks!

Your absences in total should not exceed 90 days in the 12 months immediately before application. The 90 days can be made up in any way, i.e. in one holiday or 5.

Your friend is wrong.

Of course, if you are Polish, it is harder to prove that you have been out of the UK at all. No stamps.

Interesting! I thought every time I go through border control they'd keep a record of that, no?

That's good then

Do they check when an European arrived in the UK?

I didn't want to go offtopic in the previous thread I've created, so I'll post a new thread.

If there's no stamps on a Pole's passport, whether when and how long for they left the UK, is it also true that they have no way of checking when you first arrived? Like, imagine if I wanted to apply for citizenship a year before my 5th year has passed

Thanks!

That probably wouldn't work as I've visited Job centre for my NIN appointment and they probably have access to it, dunno, need clarification!

Hi,
Not an expert - but believe they will be able to find out (somehow). As you will need to provide residence requirements - section 2.

It's your responsibility to prove you were resident in the UK during your qualifying period. How will you do that if you weren't in the UK :?

You may not have accumulated passport stamps but you could still have been scanned at border crossings.

A SAR may reveal your border crossing history, for example as per:
british-citizenship/incorrect-travel-da ... l#p1219872

Also remember than given they find out you've been dishonest, you will (rightly) be banned from applying for 10 years.
