Hi
My wife is on ILR while my son and I already British Citizen.

MY wife is planning to go to India for almost 120 days (4 months).

I understand she cant apply for naturalisation for one more year and we are ready to wait for this but such a long holiday will have any impact on ILR permit? Is there any rule on it.
I hope her ILR permit is not cancelled. Please help.

Mitul

Your wife can be outside of the UK for a 2 year period without it affecting her ILR.

Well It depends what visa category she was on prior to ILR. if it was 2 year spouse then yes she has to wait until 3 years residence.

Also you can be outside the UK for up to 2 years before they cancel ILR but they say when you apply for naturalisation that no more than 90 days in the previous 12 months outside the UK so it may be wise to wait a bit more than a year on ILR before she applies for ILR

I believe averagejoe means "before she applies for British Citizenship".
