Citizenship application

Hello everyone,

I arrived in the UK on a spouse visa. I received my ILR in February 2013. I have been separated from my husband since Feb 2011 but we did not apply for legal separation or divorce yet. I am studying full time and expected to graduate in October 2015.

I have been absent from the UK during:
10 Aug 2011 - 10 Sept 2011
27 April 2012 - 10 June 2012
14 June 2013 - 14 May 2014

In total, I have been absent for 408 days.

I came to the UK on 27 Sept 2010.

When can I apply for citizenship?

No earlier than the 5th anniversary of date of first entry in the UK, so 27-Sep-15.

Do I have to take Life in the UK test again?

I took it in Aug 2012 before applying for ILR.

No - LITUK doesn't expire so all good.

Thank you for the response. Kindly guide me with the documents that I am enclosing with my application. The documents are:
1) Pakistani passport and ILR
2) LiUK test certificate
3) UK BA (Hons) degree
4) Marriage certificate

My husband who I am still married with but separated for three now is not providing me with his passport. What is the best course of action in this regard?

Shall I state that I am applying on the basis of 5 years in the UK (NOT 3 years)?

If applying by post you can send copy of spouse passport.

If applying on own account you won't need spouse passport.

In any case suggest apply visa NCS so your docs & passport won't be tied up for months at HO.

Suggest include a reply-paid self-addressed Special Delivery Royal Mail envelope for return of docs.

Don't forget to include payment form.

One of my referees just sent me form by post after signing it however, the UKBA has updated the version of form today, does that mean I will have to refill and submit latest version?
