ESOL or SELT?

Hi Guys,

So my parents are looking to apply for BC. Just to give a bit of a background - they got ILR in 2006 and my mum has ESOL level 3 certificate from 2006 (even though it wasn't required for ILR then). My dad however, doesn't have an ESOL certificate.

I see that in order for ESOL to be an acceptable proof for the language requirement they will need to submit the application before 5th Nov.

Now my question is - shall my dad book ESOL test for his application or a grade 5/SELT test, like the one here? http://www.trinitycollege.com/site/?id=3220

Thanks.

Next month ESOL certificates wont be accepted anymore.

In my opinion it would be better to get both your mum AND your dad to do SELT from Trinity College unless your mum applies asap and your father afterwards!!!

Did thry both pass the Life In The UK test also?

Hi guys,

according to the link below, it seems like ESOL will be accepted as a correct proof of English until 12th November, however I have read in some of the posts on the forum that the deadline is 5th November?

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... r_2015.pdf

can someone please clarify?

Thanks
