Hi

Application made for “Registration of my child under 18 as British Citizen” is approved and received the “Certificate of Registration as a British Citizen.
My child is 4 years old.
Me and my spouse have ILR.

Please can anyone suggest what would be the next steps.
Should I apply for British Passport for my child or is there anything else that needs to be done.

Many thanks
Krishna

You need the British passport before you surrender the other one as the HCI will ask to see it. You have 90 days to surrender the foreign passport.

You can apply for fast track service for a British Child Passport, it takes 1 week or so.

Last one please.
1. 90 days from? (is it when the certificate was issued) or (British Passport received).

2. Can you suggest the list of documents needed to be submitted for British Passport.

3. Do I need to book an appointment in Indian Embassy to surrender passport or is it walk in.

Many thanks for your prompt responses.

1. 90 days from date of registration certificate as that is the date that the child became British.

2. Page 12 and 13 of the guide that comes with the application form has the list of documents.

3. This question will be best answered in the 'Other Countries' forum further down on the main page of the board.
