SPOUSE OF A BRITISH CITIZEN

Dear All,

I apologise for causing any inconvenience by my question and request for information.

Question One: My wife is a British citizen. She became a citizen in May, 2015. She is originally from Eastern Europe.

As for me, I am a non Eu national from Brazil and I have a residence card as Family member of EEA national, I will be eligible to apply for permanent residence next year to remain in the UK and I will be applying for British citizenship.

MY QUESTION

Should I apply for citizen as a spouse of British citizen straight away or should I wait until I complete 12 months on the permanent residence route?

I have moved your post/question to its own thread as your situation has no relevance to the 'Pathway to Citizenship' thread where you posted.

You need PR before you can apply for citizenship and as soon as you get PR, you can apply for British citizenship and you don't have to wait 12 months on PR.
