Residence issue for EU national wanting to apply for BC

Hello,

I need some advice please. I am an EU national and have been living in UK for 15 years.

Recently I became interested in applying for British nationality and got everything ready for applying. Unfortunately and due to the changes as of 12/11/15 i will now need to get PR card before applying for BC. I just missed this by few days...

The issue is that as a result of this, I will be out of UK more than 90 days in last 12 months as I just started working on EU research project which requires me to travel extensively in Europe for the next 2 years. As a result and by the time I get my PR card I will be likely way over 100 days :/ but my permanent job and employer is still UK based.

Do you think my application will be refused?

Thanks in advance for your price of advice.

As explained in HO guidance ...
There is discretion to disregard absences in excess of the limits.

Thanks for your reply and the info.

I just feel being at the mercy of discretion is a gamble..

Shame we now have to wait for PR card before applying.. sigh
