Naturalisation for my kids via Ancestral

Hi

We are in the UK on an Ancestral Visa. My husband and children are not born in the UK but are here as dependents on my Ancestral Visa.

My question is, once we have ILR, will my children be able to be naturalised too and obtain British Passports at the same time as me? My youngest is 3 years old, does he have to wait until he is 18 to be naturalised?

Thank you!

Once you, your husband AND children are granted ILR, you all have to wait 12 months before you can apply for citizenship if you meet all the requirement and you can all apply at the same time (2 x form AN and 2 x form MN1). Your children will NOT have to wait till they are 18 to apply.

Adults are naturalised on form AN

Children are registered on form MN1. As the children are not UK born, they will only be granted citizenship if you/husband are granted citizenship. They will apply under section 3(1) of the nationality act, which is an application at the discretion of the Home Secretary (official jargon), but should be fine and no issues.
