Query on Travelling to India while MN1 is under process

Hi all,
My sincere apologies if I am repeating this question, I have tried to search in the forum but couldn't find any relevant thread.
The MN1 application of two of my sons (3.3 years and 1.8 years) are in process. They both hold Indian passport and born in the UK. My wife and I hold the ILR.
In this situation my question is:
1) Can my children enter India using Indian passport? (I think Yes)
2) Can they both re-enter the UK using British passport. (My wife planning to stay for 6 months along with the kids, I will come back to the UK for my work after dropping them, apply for British passport for my kids as their presence is not required and take their passport with me to India while going to pick them after 6 months)
Is this a legitimate approach and if so do I need to follow any procedure with any authorities? please can you all guide me?
