No you cannot. Children are expected to have at least 2 years residence and ILR or permanent residency to qualify for citizenship if they are born abroad.

What is your nationality and the nationality of your children?

What is the immigration status of their mother?

The status of children born outside the UK is in line with that of the less-privileged parent.

So, your wife will need to migrate to the UK and go through all the steps required to reach ILR/PR status and get citizenship.

Your children will be eligible for registration as British citizens either when both parents are British citizens or one is a British citizen and the other parent is applying for British citizenship.

Just to clarify, do you have ILR under the Immigration Rules or PR under the EEA Regulations? They are two separate statuses.

Thanks guys, I still want to know if I can apply naturalization for my 2 children (age 11 and 4) when they visit me with their 6 months visiting visa and possibility to stay with me, presently I have permanent resident card and my naturalization is due May 2016 (This year) while still battling with my wife settlement visa in Nigeria.

NO, you cannot!! I feel my original answer to your question was quite clear. They DO NOT qualify in any way to apply for British Citizenship. They will have to apply for a settlement visa under the UK Immigration rules in line with their mother and wait 5 years before they can apply for ILR.

Through what route did you obtain permanent residence?

secret.simon has also asked you previously to clarify about your PR.

A hint that the OP may be referring to ILR BRP when he says "permanent residence card"?

As have been mentioned multiple times before, the children born abroad do not qualify for citizenship.

Unless he obtain PR through RoR, in which case the OPs situation won't make sense or be very complicated. If it is RoR and he has PR, it would still be a settlement visa.

Okay, but unsure why PR or ILR status is relevant to the query about children's eligibility to citizenship? In either case, the children are not eligible for citizenship, if born outside UK.

Or am I missing something?
