Hi All
I would like to get some info regarding my friend. he had IN10 in sep 2012 and same year he applied for my british citizenship and he didnt know that IN10 comes under conviction and he did not mention it but later his application wasrefused.
Can you please tell me how long he has to wait to re apply?

Just to add, my friends application was already in home office and while it was pending in home office he had conviction, the home office refused his application saying that you didnot inform us that you conviction is still pending. The reason why my friend did not tell home office was because he was waiting for the letter from court which state the conviction

As per current rules: 10 year ban.
HO plays hardball with what it deems deception

hi
Thanks for replying. I saw some posts where it says of the conviction is non costodial then its 3 years ban before you can apply. Is this true?

Yes that's the case for a relatively minor conviction (there are still exceptions).
But that's before HO decide an applicant withheld material facts.
If they refuse an application & determine there's been deception it's a 10 year ban under their 'good character' rules.
