Travel after Oath Ceremony

Hello,

I applied for my Citizenship last October, and had my oath ceremony in December. I had to travel to India after that, so a week later I was on a flight and came back only in January.

I have a few queries. Please bear with me if they are very naive:

* After coming back, I saw the UKBA page mentioned that you cannot use the BRP for travel, but I had used it and nobody questioned me during my return to the UK.
* Also there is this thing about the fine for £1000. Now I have returned the BRP to the UKBA, but will I now be fined for it? Did these rules changes recently?
* Not that I need to apply for my British passport, is there a chance I will be denied citizenship?

Thanks,
Vishal

Recent change in the Rules. It won't affect your British passport application.

Once that happened, you became a British Citizen and you will be such for the rest of your life unless it is later deprived (something that happens Very Very rarely and only in the most extreme circumstances) or you choose to renounce it.

You weren't supposed to but *shrug* oh well.

They are somewhat recent rules changes and nobody knows if any fines will ever actually occur. This will likely play itself out over the next couple of years.

You already have British citizenship. A passport has nothing to do with that. You can live the rest of your days and never have a passport, but you will still be a British citizen.

You already HAVE citizenship. Passport is just a travel document.
