Will Divorce effect my Citizenship application next year ?

Hi
I am on my ILR now have to apply for citizenship next year . i have got ILR on 10 year long residency basis 8 years my student PSW etc and 2 year i was on my husband dependent visa who was on ILR . now me and my husband want divorce with mutual consent. will it effect me for applying for citizenship ?

Not after you have got your ILR. Your status is now independent of your spouse.

Your marriage status has no impact on your naturalisation application (apart from if you are married to a British citizen, in which case the requirements are different).

You will however, have to ensure that there is a 12 month gap between being granted ILR and the date you apply for BC. That's assuming the divorce decree absolute has been granted by the time you are ready to submit your application.
