Change of name during British Citizenship

I am a Srilankan national and now holding an ILR in UK.

On my current passport, my name is printed under 'Surname' section and my family name is printed under 'Other names' section. I was applying all my visas based on my passport details and now I have my ILR in the same way.

I am now eligible to apply for British Citizenship and I would like to resolve this matter once for all. I want to change my name order other way around. What is the best way to do this please?

1) Should I write the names in the right order in AN1 form and explain the discrepancy in section 22. If so, do I have to submit my Birth Certificate from my home country?
I am going to be using NCS service. Will they make this as an issue?

2) Apply for British Citizenship in the same way and use a deed poll to change the name later?

Can some one please help me? Thanks in advance

Option 2 but only AFTER you have your British Passport.

HO and HMPO will only issued naturalisation certificate and passport in the name that appears on your foreign passport.

Thanks CR001.

What if I contact Srilankan High Commission in London and change my name in my current passport -

a) Will that void my current ILR?
b) if not, do I have to change my ILR bio metrics prior to apply for Citizenship?

Thanks

It will not void your ILR, but you will need to apply for a replacement BRP. I believe that the Home Office will also ask for formal proof that you changed your name (something like a deed poll).
