i had a FPN for MOT and Non Insurance (same day in April 2014). I was victim of insurance fraud (by a broker) which i duly reported to the police. When i applied for ILR i did not disclose it because form wasnt clear at that time that i have to declare FPNs however now Nationality form is clear that i have to disclose.

My question is do these FPNs and 6 penalty points will effect my application??? I have never had any other problem in the past and I always had my car insured (have last 7 years insurance certificates) it was just due to broker fraud i got these FPNs.

can any experience member of the forum declare reply should I declare it or if yes could it effect my application ? AMBER PLS REPLY ON MY POST

If in doubt declare it.

One person's outcome is not guaranteed to be the same as anothers - that's the point about HO's good character test.
There is an element of discretion applied, plus analysis of other factors & past behaviour that will all in sum total be particular to an individual applicant.

Someone posting they 'had 6 points and they waltzed it' may not post the rest of their case in open forum.

In short, your mileage may vary.

any one got naturalization refused because of 6 insurance & FPN related points on their driving licence ?

A single FPN within a 12 month period that was not issued by a court would not be material to a ILR decision nor citizenship.

I personally am of the opinion that straight forward Citizenship Applications are looked at 1st and dealt with quicker aswell.

Regarding applications with Convictions or questionable Good Character, it then gets put to one side to be thoroughly checked etc...

From a personal experience ( 3 FPN's and a Conviction, all past the 3 Year Mark ) the more honest you are, the less chances of being refused.

Luck may have it that you have almost nothing serious at all but forget disclosing something as minor as a Parking Ticket and then they ( Home Office ) find about it and refuse you.
