Hi All
I am new to the site. I tried finding the answer to the above without success from the existing posts.

I got naturalized about 6 months ago and having a British Passport my self. I am thinking of applying for the British Passport for my 2 kids, now.
My question is whether the kids need go through the painful process of Naturalization again or is there a provision they can apply for British passports, directly
Thanks for answering!

No need to naturalise, minors don't naturalise - they may have to register though.

Hi
Thank you very much for your reply.
However, I found in MN1 guide that British citizenship by decent will be granted to one generation born aboard ( children) where the father is British not by descent; i.e. naturalised.
Therefore under these circumstances, will my kids not be eligible to automatic British Citizenship without registration, as my children are born outside UK and I am a naturalised father?
Thanks

True, if the children were born after a parent became British.

Only counts if the children were born after you were naturalised.

Children born abroad to non-British parents are not British.
They would have to come to UK, become settled in UK, show their future lies in UK & apply to register at Home Secretary's discretion.
