Hi all,

I am applying for my wife's naturalisation on the 16th March 2016 through NCS.

We are bit worried about the eligibility of Naturalisation under 3 Year rule.

My wife was in the UK from 16th March 2013 till today.

However since we are submitting on 16th March 2016, we are filling and signing the form with 15th March 2016. Even the same date by referees too.

Is it ok or would it be a problem as my wife was not in the UK on 15th March 2013.

Please guide us.

It should be fine. Date of application is the date you submit at NCS.

I seem to recall there have been 1 or 2 cases reported by members where someone has dated their form on the anniversary of a day they were not in UK;
they have had form returned by HO and been asked to re-sign form and re-date it later.

Thanks for quick reply.

I got the NCS appointment with great difficulty (luckily... thanks to online booking sysyem of Kent) and my appointment is at 9 AM in Kent. I am travelling a long distance as they offer Joint Naturalisation and Passport service.

As you all know the fees is increasing. I am bit worried now as said by noajthan there are few cases where they had to re-date.

Would NCS point this out or what best can I do now?

Agree, there have been a couple but these I think were in the circumstances where applicant was asking for discretion using certain criteria and 7 years residence.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Its a relief for me.

My wife meets all the criteria under 3 Year rule, no absenses, no discretion.

So I am hoping my wife's application would be ok.
