Hi, I am a Greek national residing in UK since 09/2009. I did my MSc degree from 2009-2010 then stayed in UK for a year trying to find a job. Later on I started my PhD study from 2012 till now.

I want to apply for a registration certificate in order to apply for a British citizenship after one year.

I noticed they require a comprehensive sickness insurance for EEA applicants.

I am not sure if this is necessary or can I submit my form without providing one. :?

otherwise could someone please advise me on what should I do and what are my options in this case
Many thanks

It takes 5 years of exercising treaty rights continuously to acquire PR.

Students need CSI to keep their PR clock running.
If you didn't have CSI or alternative in the period 2009-2010 and since 2012 then that time will not count towards PR.

Do you have a foreign-issued EHIC &/or RC issued to you as a student in/before 2011?

Otherwise take out a CSI policy and your PR clock will start from now.
