Hi,

I hold an ILR. I will be shortly applying for British Citizenship. This will be followed by British Passport application.

However, while this is happening; I need to travel to the US for work reasons for a week or two(and my business visitor VISA is already approved).

Questions:
- Is it recommended that I apply via NCS and travel to US while the application is in progress?
- If not, shall I apply for citizenship, then go to ceremony then apply for passport? What is the expected turn around time for this? I am assuming its no less than 2 months for clear cut case? This will hamper my work!

This will hamper my work! It can take a couple of months or many months. Some people are still waiting from mid 2014. If you have travel, suggest you use NCS to submit your application.

Bear in mind though that you will need to be in the UK to enroll your biometrics and will have a 15 day window once you receive the letter.

Also, are you aware the fees have increased w.e.f. today.

Thanks for the reply CR001. I will go via NCS route as I definitely have need to travel during these 2-3 months. Yea, I saw the fee increase from 18Mar. Well, it's ought to be done so nothing much anyone can do with fee increase.

I have a Biometric Residence Permit, so will I still need to provide Biometrics again?

Yes you will be required to provide your biometric details again.
