How do I go about applying for British citizenship and getting a British passport for my 7 year old daughter who was born in Sierra Leone. I am a British citizen myself by birth and reside here in the UK and I am married to her mother who is from Sierre Leone. They both reside in SL. Is my daughter automatically British by descent? If so which forms do I need to complete
Kind regards
Peter

If
you were born in the UK then you are a British citizen otherwise than by descent, which means your daughter is a British citizen by descent. You can apply directly for a passport.

Thanks for that, I didn't even notice you had attached a link
Does this mean I can apply here in the UK for the passport or do we apply in Sierre Leone? Sorry for questions, as am sure the answer is somewhere here on the forum
Regards

I don't believe the child needs to be present for the application. As you are in the UK, it will be much easier and faster to get the passport than applying from Sierra Leone.
