Naturalisation or NTL for new ILR

I am an Indian national and married to a British citizen. However, I received my ILR based on 10 years settlement in June 2014 so I am eligible for BC application. I read the rules for this process and realised my Indian passport should be in my married if I want my naturalisation certificate and British passport in my married name, which I do.

So in April, I applied and received my new Indian passport in my married name. I am able to apply for my naturalisation as BC now but wanted to know do I have to change my ILR details to my married name too or can I just apply for naturalisation?

The change of details in ILR will be through the NTL application for a new BRP and will cost £308 and the website says I should do this within 3 months of name change or incur a £1000 fine! If I will become a british citizen soon anyway i see this new BRP application as a big waste of money. Also, I don't know if the 2 applications will clash and cause a problem for each other.

Please advise. Thanks
