Hi There,

its me again with another question.

I've got British and my 3rd child is also British since she was born here but my wife and my other 2 children were given discretionary leave. They have been in this country like nearly 5 years now.

Nearly 3 and half years were dependant and then got this discretionary leave and its been another 1 yr or so.

I have been told that i can register them for naturalisation MN1 application for my other two child. Is that true? what are the possiblitlities.?

is there a rule that i can register them after 2 years of discretionary leave?

PS: They both were born in India before i got my ILR and CC.

looking forward to hear from the experts.

Adi.

Children born abroad are expected to hold ILR before they qualify for citizenship.

If born abroad minors will need ILR before registering as citizens at the discretion of the Home Secretary.

Mother will need ILR too and to be naturalising at the same time.

Mother does not have to be naturalising for the children to qualify. ILR status for the mother would be sufficient as one parent is already British.

Correct and your children born abroad will also have to apply for ILR when their mother does.
