Hi,

My child was born in July 2015 and at that time both me & my wife were on Indian passports and Tier 1 General Visa. I got my ILR last week and my wife is still on dependent visa and will be eligible for ILR in Sep 2018.

Can i apply for my Child's British Passport/Citizenship. Experts kindly advice.

Thanks in advance.
RK.

You cannot apply for a passport until the child is a citizen.

Where was the child born?

Once either you or the mother has ILR, you can apply to have the child registered as a British citizen. It is an entitlement and child does not require ILR.

There is Joint Citizenship and Passport Application service available in NCS. To apply for your British Passport at the same time as applying for British Citizenship. This initiative is in partnership with the Home Office.

If your application for citizenship is a success, your British passport will be posted to your home after you have attended your citizenship ceremony.

The joint service costs an additional £10 which is payable at your appointment.
