I need clarifications with regards to the Parents' documents that needs to be submitted for Child First British Passport - Born Abroad
If applicant born or adopted outside the UK - parents' or adoptive parents' documents

• The passport you entered the country from which you are applying or any non-British passport held.
I believe this means the “Child Passport”, regardless of the Child or Parents’ passports, should I send original or color photocopies.
• If the birth certificate you provide has not been issued by a British Embassy, High Commission or Consulate showing parents' details, also please provide:
o If born on or after 1 January 1983

 Both parents' full birth certificates (showing both the child's and parents' details); or both parents’ naturalisation or registration certificates; and
Is it Ok to provide the British father Naturalisation Certificate and Non-British mother’s Full Birth Certificate. Also clarify if colour photocopies of the Naturalisation Certificate / Full Birth certificate will be accepted instead of the originals
• Both parents’ passports at the time of the applicant’s conception
Can I provide full colour copies of the Passports instead of the original?

Where are you applying from, UK or abroad??

You can send copies but they could ask for originals if they need to.

Copies will be sufficient.

Are you aware of the length of time (6-12 months) it takes to get a BC passport if applying from abroard???

Thank you for all your help.

Oops that's really long time, I thought it takes only 3 - 4 weeks.
With this time period, it would be very difficult for most of the people to send their original passports.

I will send color copies as advised.

All overseas passport applications are processed in the UK. It only takes a couple of weeks for passport application submitted within the UK.

Copies will suffice.
