British Passport - Received letter from HM Passport Office

Hi,

I have become British citizen and applied for first adult passport. I had an interview and answered all the questions. One of the question is where you work and how do you go to work. As I am a contractor, I travel weekend and live temporarily at my friends house near work location and then travel back to home in the weekends.

After few days, received a letter asking for temporary accommodation residence letter either from local authority, tenancy agreement from agents or letting. I don't have any official letter as I am living temporarily at my friend's place on a request and can't produce any of these letters.

Can any one advise how to respond to this letter please? Is there any problem to get my passport due to this. Please advise.

In the absence of anything else, have your friend write the letter, explaining your circumstances.

Thanks very much for the reply.

My friend can write a plain letter now saying that I am living with him as a guest and friend in home temporarily. Is that helpful and okay to send them?

Should be okay. They will tell you if it's not.
