MN1 Form Clarification - absence from UK (EEA A8 parent)

Hello All,

My husband and I came in UK in 2007 and have been exercising our Treaty rights since then. He is EEA A8 national, I was his dependant until 2014, being EEA A2 national. We both do not have Permanent Residence card, although both entitled for PR status since around 2013.

My daughter was born in UK in Aug 2010, and therefore we have to register her as British citizen, using MN1 form - Section 1 (3).

I need clarification on two points:

1. Are we supposed to calculate the settlement date (PR status) precisely? Or can we just pick up any date after 2013 (e.g. 2014, or 2015) so to be comfortable we can definitely provide all necessary backup documents?

2. On MN1 form, Section 2 (3) ask for details of all absences from UK during the period of residence. We travel two or three times a year within EU. How am I supposed to remember the correct dates and how HO will check this?

Many thanks in advance.

As an A8 citizen, was your husband registered with WRS for all his jobs before May 2011(if employed)? If he was not registered, that period (before May 2011) won't count for the purposes of acquiring PR.

Airline tickets? Emails? Online reservation records?

Hi,

He was registered with WRS. Will only his registration be sufficient?

I would probably be able to tell more or less when and where we have been during this time, but my concern is what if I cannot remember the exact dates? We often travel by car, I doubt we keep all tickets/records from last 9 years.

How likely is for HO to reject our application if there are some minor variances in the dates? Will NCS be able to advise?

Thanks.
